micing an amp to a pc?
i have quite a few songs i wrote but i dont really know how to mic my guitar amp to my pc. i try to use an adapter and plug a cable into the headphone jack and plug the other end of the pc. i know i need a preamp or something like that. can i use another small amp as a preamp or should i invest in a usb cable or usb mic

USB cable would probably be your cheapest bet unless you wanted to hook up a mixer, I got one for under $125 on my site @ http://www.guitarwarlord.com, cheap strings too.
The only problem with USB cable is hooking it up through your software because it gets kind of tricky. If you have all your stuff ready to be recorded though, just download a trial of Sony Acid studio and you should be fine. your not really going to get good quality out of a usb mic unless your just using for singing. it won’t pick up the guitar right.
You could always use a rack but if you don’t have a digital interface you won’t be able to have full control over the mixing. If you want just look around my electronics section, you might be able to find what you are looking for.
